What Can You Use Innopipe For? (Installation Examples)Do you deal with slugging, corrosion, or expensive maintenance in your LNG, steam, or natural gas pipelines?

Innopipe makes it easy. Our inline separators (replace drips) remove liquids without the need for multiple steps, providing efficient performance.

There are over 100 Innopipe installations in dozens of locations around the world. These installations range from 1 single Innoipe install to 18 installs at a single location through the US, Canada, Asia and the Middle East.

Not only there are there a wide variety of installs for our clients in a variety of industries, but an even wider range of uses, too.

While Innopipe is known as the unique piggable drip and gas separator that removes excessive liquids from pipelines, you might be interested to learn about the specific ways our customers actually use it, and why.

Below, we’ll discuss exactly what these benefits are.

Innopipe Applications Are Varied

Innopipe can help pipeline address a wide variety of concerns. Suggested Innopipe applications include:

  • General liquid removal from gas streams.
  • Gas transmission lines, gathering systems, pipelines, distribution systems
  • Managing slug flow within a pipeline gathering system
  • Mitigate upsets in processing plants due to liquid carryover
  • Liquids protection of compressor engine inlets
  • Cavern storage liquid removal and fill (bi-directional)
  • Liquids removal before river crossings and low points in pipelines
  • Lube oil carryover removal
  • Production and well test separators
  • Liquids removal upstream of ultrasonic gas meters (reduced meter fouling)
  • Steam condensate removal from steam lines (retrograde condensation operating conditions, SAGD).

Innopipes Installation Uses

Here are some of the most popular uses for Innopipe installs. This list is comprised of the most common, actual installations of Innopipe around the world:

  • Above and below ground piggable drip
  • Major pipeline liquid removal
  • HDPE pipeline liquid removal
  • Well testing
  • Ultrasonic metering upstream liquid removal
  • Lubricant removal downstream of a compressor
  • Liquid removal in utility distribution system
  • In-facility liquids removal
  • Gathering system for liquid unloading
  • Feed stock separation
  • Storage pool
  • Inlet separator protector
  • Underground gas supply network
  • Gas transmission
  • Temporary liquids removal station trial

As you can see, oil and gas businesses aren’t the ones taking advantage of Innopipe to achieve various benefits. The benefits that Innopipe offers over competitors can be explained in several ways.

The Innopipe inline gas separator and inline piggable drip system has three main components: separator section,

What Makes Different From Competitors?

Innopipe is not only designed differently from competitors, but these differences benefit pipeline owners in multiple ways. Here’s how:

Innopipe is Designed Differently

Traditional “drips” are unreliable. They are piggable, but still allow liquids to bypass. Drawing on years of field experience, Innopipe’s design recognizes that annular flow conditions (common in gas transmission) causes liquids to travel as a film along the entire inner pipe wall, not just the bottom. This explains why previous drips miss much of the liquids. This insight led to the creation of a unique annular flow liquid removal mechanism—the core of what became Innopipe technology.

The Innopipe inline gas separator and piggable drip system is versatile and flexible and can be designed to meet custom specifications.

The system can be used for sweet or sour gas and adjusted to meet required flow rates. It can be installed in harsh, cold climates without compromising effectiveness.

And as we’ll see below, it can be customized in multiple ways.

Innopipe Offers Competitive Advantages

Innopipe’s design offers advantages over normal drips that not only cost more but don’t perform as well.

These additional advantages include:

  • Lower cost vs other separators
  • Small footprint with less steel used
  • Simple design, easy to use
  • Above or below grade installations or installed in vaults or cassions
  • Allows pigging through unit
  • Proven installations world-wide
  • Pipeline sizes 1” to 60”, high pressure
  • Low pressure drop
  • Manufactured in Canada or under license across the world
