When building tanks, VRU’s offer a great vapour management solution, but floating internal roofs can do a lot of the mitigation work.

The photo below is of an earlier project we did for a couple of 2,000 Bbl tanks into which the floating roofs were field installed. These roofs are foam core treated with fire retardants, corrosion resistant aluminum and 304 SS fittings.

They now also conform to the latest API 650 Annex H edition and can be installed through a manway as small as 20″ dia. and have an R-20 thermal barrier to boot.

These self-supporting composite roofs don’t require walkways and include a circumferential double wiper seal conformant with CCME EPC-87E guidelines.

These integrate pressure/vacuum relief manways, column seals, grounding and anti-rotation cables. OilPro will also advise on the best internal piping and nozzle configurations, inlet diffusers and heating systems from coils to firetubes to immersion heaters.
