Flexible fuel hose coils at the base of stack upon retraction.
The retractable package includes:
2-inch x 1-inch High Strength Steel tracking
¼-inch x 3-inch flat bar tracking supports

2.0 ELECTRONIC SPARKING IGNITION
One electronic ignitor will be used to ignite the waste gas stream.
Simple Lite Electronic Ignition System (TEIS):
Model: TEIS-SLC 12 VDC-Solar
12 VDC-Solar intermittent spark ignition system c/w patented self-cleaning, self-aligning spark gap and full ignitor tracking system (no pilot is used with this system).
The ignitor head and assembly are 304 and 316 SS construction
24 VDC, 120/220 VAC or 12 VDC-Solar power inputs are available
High voltage S.O.O.W cable is provided from the junction box at the stack base to the ignition head
NEMA 4X CSA-approved control enclosure c/w 3 position-switch and mounting brackets.
Solar Power Package:
The solar power package includes:
DC-31 deep cycle battery
PVC enclosure
30 watt solar panel and mounting brackets
The current draw is 5.5 – 6.5 Amperes sparking and 0.05 Amperes at rest.
TEIS System – Operating Information:
The Electronic Ignition System (TEIS) is a standalone ignitor and is not used as an ignition system for pilots.
The system uses a solid state timer to initiate a high voltage spark every 40 seconds when the control panel is turned to auto.
The TEIS is pre-set with optimal factory settings to arc for two seconds each cycle
NOTE: these settings are not adjustable.
All continuous (spark) ignition systems on the market today operate on the same principle: an intense high-energy signal jumps a fixed spark gap with enough energy to ignite flare gas.
The TEIS is designed to address several commonly found issues:
Spark plugs can eventually build up carbon and close off the spark gap preventing proper operation.
This system has patented a floating electrode (Arch-Light and V-Design) which allows back-and-forth movement of the electrode while maintaining a constant spark gap.
This self-cleaning, self-aligning feature is unique to this system and prevents excessive carbon build-up.
Another common problem is the overheating of ignitor probes.
This results in distortion and widening of spark gaps, which the generated signals eventually are unable to bridge.
This system oveercomes this problem by using our own shroud and gas stripper which allows the ignitor/pilot head to be positioned below the actual flare tip wher it is unexposed to the highest heat area.
Note: All electrical components are suitable for operation in a general purpose area.
Note: we recommends that the customer orients the flare stack tor orient the ignition system downwind from the flare tip and waste gas.
Warning: Due to the intermittent nature of the TEIS ignition system, we strongly recommends the use of a TSI #6 constant pilot and TPMR auto-relight system option
Options not included in base price, but available at an extra cost:
1.
HP Velocity Purge Reducer:
4-inch, 304L SS weld-in dynamic purge gas reducing seal.
Minimum purge gas requirement with a 4-inch seal is 13 SCFH
minimum purge gas requirement without a seal is 157 SCFH.
2.
LP Velocity Purge Reducer:
2-inch, 304L SS weld-in dynamic purge gas reducing seal.
Minimum purge gas requirement with a 2-inch seal is 3 SCFH
minimum purge gas requirement without a seal is 40 SCFH.
3.
Mating Base Plate:
Supply of mating base plate (1.125-inch dia. A193-B7 studs and A194-2H nuts to be provided by others).
Tripod Stand:
Aluminum tripod stand for control enclosure and solar panel (for 12VDC solar voltage option).
If tripod option is not chosen, client must supply own means for supporting control enclosure and solar panels.
Detonation Arrestor:
If purge gas and a purge seal are not used on an intermittent flare, a detonation arrestor should be considered. For both risers, we would recommend the Tornado ILSF-B-4-inch Detonation Arrestor, c/w 4-inch 150 lb RF flanges, 304L SS grids, carbon steel housing, and alumina ceramic arresting beads (pressure drop has not been considered).
Flame Arrestor:
Tornado Model CRXSFA – 4-inch Crimped Ribbon Flame Arrestor, c/w :
4-inch 150lb RF flanges
carbon steel housing
304L SS flame cell elements (pressure drop was not considered).
Note: although quoted above, due to the run-up distance that the flare riser would provide a Flame Arrestor is NOT suitable as a protection device on a flare stack inlet.
It is strongly recommended that a Detonation Arrestor be used rather than a Flame Arrestor in this application.
Tornado’s detonation arrestor endurance burn characteristics and ability to handle a detonation event provide adequate protection for intermittent flaring.
